- Can anyone recommend a somewhat extensive "Guide to Amiga sharaware/
- freeware" that may have been published recently in any of the British
- or American Amiga magazines? I've been on the internet for some
- years but for various reasons, really didn't start downloading a lot
- until recently. For instance, right now I'm looking for a reasonable
- text editor, a better AmigaGuide reader, etc., and it occurred to me
- that the Amiga community could use an organized guide to the programs
- on Aminet...not just the author's desciption of features, but some-
- thing that put the better programs in a given category head-to-head
- in terms of features, stability, support, etc. (FYI, I've gone through
- about half of Aminet's disk directory browsers and am currently using
- Ordering, although even it has given me some grief. I have yet to
- try the MUI programs, the very oldest programs, and some of the largest
- programs in this category, but I'll get to them at some point.)
-
- Is such a guide available somewhere? Is anyone interested in writing
- a shareware/freeware column for Amiga Report? ;-) Does anyone think
- this is a good idea?? I'd be happy to publish my directory utility
- findings whenever I feel they're conclusive, but that may take a while.
-
- Thanks,
